These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the publisher of the Labis mobile app ("Labis", "we", "us", "our"). They cover your use of the Labis app for iOS and everything offered through it (the "App").
By creating an account or using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the App.
Questions: support@labis.health
1. What Labis is, and what it is not
Labis helps you keep your laboratory reports and medical documents together. It stores your original documents, shows each test with the reference range printed by the laboratory and the page it came from, keeps the history of each test, lets you compare two dates, lets you share profiles with family members you choose, helps you prepare questions and a PDF for your doctor, and includes an optional AI assistant.
Labis is an organizer and an educational tool. It is not a medical service. Labis is not a medical service and we are not medical professionals. Explanations are general information, not medical advice — always check information yourself and talk to a qualified clinician. The App shows this notice when you start, in Settings, in the assistant, under explanations and in the reports you create.
- The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a medical device.
- Reference ranges are the ones printed on your laboratory report. Whether a result is within that range does not tell you whether you are healthy or ill. Only a qualified clinician can interpret your results for you.
- Nothing in the App (results, history, comparisons, explanations, reminders or assistant replies) replaces the advice of a doctor or other qualified professional.
- Always talk to a qualified healthcare professional about your results and before starting, stopping or changing any treatment.
- Never ignore professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in the App.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number. Do not use the App for emergencies.
2. Your records and their accuracy
Values read from your documents can be wrong or incomplete, for example when a page is blurred or a layout is unusual. Uncertain values are marked for you to review, and the original page is always kept so you can check it. You are responsible for checking the values you confirm against the original document before you rely on them or share them. The original document is the authoritative record.
3. AI features
AI processing is optional and off until you turn it on. When it is on, reading values from imported reports and the assistant's replies are generated by artificial intelligence, provided by OpenAI (what is sent is described in the Privacy Policy). AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. The assistant explains terms and helps you find your records; it does not diagnose, rule out conditions or recommend treatment. Content inside your documents is treated only as text and cannot instruct the App to share, delete or change anything.
You use AI content at your own risk, and you should check anything that matters against your original documents and with your clinician.
4. Who can use the app
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account. The App is for personal, non-commercial use.
5. Your account
- You sign in with email or with Apple. Keep your login details safe; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us at support@labis.health if you think someone else has accessed your account.
6. Family profiles and sharing
- You may keep records for a child only if you are their parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise legally authorised to manage their health information.
- You may keep records for another adult (for example a parent) only with their consent or with legal authority such as a power of attorney or guardianship. You confirm this when you create their profile; we record your confirmation and its date but do not check documents. If your consent or authority ends, hand the profile over to the person or delete it.
- When you hand a profile over, the person who accepts becomes its owner: they control its records and decide whether you keep any access.
- You may share a profile you own with another adult, and another adult may share their profile with you. Access starts only when the invitation is accepted and is limited to the permissions the owner grants.
- Only upload documents about yourself or about people whose records you are authorised to manage. Do not use the App to access anyone's records without their permission.
- The owner of a profile can change or remove anyone's access at any time. Copies that were already downloaded or exported can't be recalled.
- Paying for a subscription does not give anyone access to another person's records.
7. Subscriptions, free trials and payments
- Labis needs a paid subscription. After you create your account and set up your profile, the App asks you to subscribe (with a free trial where one is offered). Prices and what each plan includes are shown in the App before you buy.
- If your subscription ends, your documents and confirmed results are not deleted: they stay in your account and are available again when you subscribe. You can still delete your account from the subscription screen, and we'll send you a full export of your data if you ask us at support@labis.health.
- Subscriptions are managed by Apple and RevenueCat, our subscription provider (see the Privacy Policy).
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial if one is offered. Free trials are available only to eligible new subscribers.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or from Settings in the App. Deleting the App or your account does not cancel a subscription.
- If you cancel, you keep paid access until the end of the period you paid for. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies (reportaproblem.apple.com); we cannot issue them ourselves.
- We may change prices, plans or usage limits. Price changes apply from your next renewal, and Apple will notify you where required.
8. Reminders, doctor reports and finding a lab
Reminders are a convenience. Notifications can be delayed, silenced or never delivered by your device, so do not rely on the App alone for appointments or tests that matter. Doctor reports contain the records you select. You decide who receives them, and you are responsible for sharing them securely.
Find a lab shows places from OpenStreetMap, a public map maintained by volunteers. Names, addresses, opening hours and services can be missing or out of date, and a listing is not a recommendation. Check with the laboratory before you go.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into the App: documents, results, notes and questions ("Your Content"). You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process and display Your Content only as needed to run the App for you and for the people you share it with, including sending it to the service providers described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell Your Content or use it for advertising.
Only upload content you have the right to share.
10. Acceptable use
Don't:
- use the App for anything unlawful, or to harm yourself or others;
- access or try to access records you have not been given permission to see;
- try to break, overload, probe, scrape or reverse engineer the App or its systems, or get around limits and paywalls;
- use the assistant to produce harmful, abusive or illegal content, or try to extract its prompts or manipulate it into ignoring its safety rules;
- resell the App or use it to provide services to others;
- upload malware or content that infringes someone else's rights.
We apply usage limits (for example on imports and AI processing) and may change them.
11. Our intellectual property
The App, its design, text, graphics, software and trademarks belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the App under these Terms. All other rights are reserved.
12. Availability and changes
We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend or stop the App. If we stop the App, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your records first, unless the law prevents it. We don't promise that the App will always be available, error-free or secure. Keep your own copies of anything important; the App's export is there for that.
13. Deleting your account and termination
- You can delete your account at any time in the App, from Settings. This permanently deletes the profiles you own, your documents, results, plans, visit questions, reports and sharing permissions. It cannot be undone. Export first if you want a copy. Cancel any active subscription separately in your Apple ID settings.
- You can also ask us to delete your account at support@labis.health.
- We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if we must do so by law, or if we stop offering the App.
- Sections that by their nature should survive (including 1, 2, 3, 14, 15, 16 and 18) continue to apply after termination.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not warrant that any value, explanation or other information in the App is accurate, complete or suitable for you. The App has not been evaluated or approved by any health authority.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- You use the App at your own risk. Decisions about your health are yours and your clinician's.
- We, our owners, staff and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for personal injury, illness, loss of data, loss of profits or any other loss arising from or related to the App, its content (including AI-generated content), missed reminders, or your reliance on any of them.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.
Some countries don't allow certain exclusions or limits. In that case they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing in these Terms removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
16. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to cover us for claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your misuse of the App, Your Content, sharing records you were not authorised to share, or your breach of these Terms or of the law.
17. Apple
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the App fails to meet an applicable warranty you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for handling claims about the App, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. You confirm that you are not in a country under a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You must also follow the App Store terms and any third-party terms that apply when you use the App.
18. General
- Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the App or by email. If you keep using the App after changes take effect, you accept them.
- Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of the United Arab Emirates, unless the law of your country of residence requires otherwise. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply.
- Disputes. Please contact us first at support@labis.health; we'll try to resolve any issue informally.
- If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or sale.
- These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the App.
